Abstract
Abstract
There is consensus within the offshore oil & gas industry that there are too many instances of premature mooring line replacement and failure. In response to this situation, there has been rapid growth in mooring integrity related research and development. It has become difficult to keep track of all of this activity. The purpose of this paper is to provide a comprehensive review of the current state-of-the-art in mooring integrity management. Particular focus is given to coverage of the latest information on mooring failures, component degradation processes, monitoring and inspection technology, and mooring integrity management systems.
