Abstract
Abstract
Knowing the characteristics of oil and the presence of contaminants (such as CO2) is essential for the proper evaluation of a petroleum accumulation. This work aimed to verify the accuracy of the oil composition estimates obtained by the In-Situ Fluid Analyzer (IFA) module, from SLB, for different pre-salt oil accumulations in the Santos Basin. A methodology, based on the results of this study, was applied to anticipate the information about the formation fluid characteristics for a wildcat well using the compositional estimates of the IFA module during the logging operation.
