Abstract

This study aims to analyze the radiation dose in the Computed Tomography (CT) Scan of the Head using the sequential and helical scan methods at the Radiology Installation of Fatmawati General Hospital. This research is quantitative with an observation approach. Data were collected at the Fatmawati General Hospital Radiology Installation in October 2021. The data was taken from a CT Scan Head sample from August to October 2021, so 18 patients were obtained using the sequential scan method and 18 patients using the helical scan method. The results showed that the sequential scan got an average CTDIvol value of 29.5161 mGy and an average DLP value of 546.3867 mGy.cm. The helical scan method got an average CTDIvol value of 49.9456 mGy and an average DLP value of 981.8178 mGy.cm. Statistical analysis showed that the value of the Wilcoxon sign rank test on the sequential and helical scan methods was p value = 0.002. That means there is a difference in the average radiation dose value in the sequential and helical scan methods. There are differences in CTDIvol and DLP values in the sequential and helical scan methods. The dose obtained using the sequential scan method is lower than that of helical. Keywords: CT Scan Head, Sequential, Helical, CTDIvol
