Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the views of social studies teacher candidates on the effective use of textbooks and textbooks. In the study, a case study pattern was used as one of the qualitative research methods. The study group consists of 38 prospective social studies teachers studying at a public university. As a data collection tool, the Social Studies textbook opinion form consisting of open-ended questions was used, and the data were collected digitally at the end of the fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. The data obtained were analyzed by content analysis, tables were created in the form of themes and codes and presented with frequencies and supported with direct quotations. Textbooks and textbooks for the effective use of social studies teacher candidates opinions, content, Teaching-Learning-Evaluation and assessment language-technical editing and style suggestions with design and effective textbook for the use of expression under themes were analyzed.
