Abstract
Changes in people's unhealthy lifestyles such as poor eating patterns, lack of physical activity, non-compliance of hypertension sufferers in undergoing diet and medication are one of the factors in the increasing prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia. Self care management that is carried out effectively is useful for increasing patient satisfaction in living life, reducing treatment costs, increasing self-confidence, patient independence, and improving the patient's quality of life. Self care management behaviors include: adherence to diet, physical activity, stress control, limiting alcohol consumption and quitting smoking. The purpose of this community service is to increase understanding and carry out self care management behavior in people with hypertension. The partners involved in this community service activity are the Ubud Health Center 1. Community service methods include measuring self-care management behavior through questionnaires, providing education through health counseling, health checks/screening and yoga practice 2x a week for 2 weeks. The results of community service showed that the application of self care management was mostly in the less category with 18 respondents (45%), sufficient category with 15 respondents (37.5%) and good category with 7 respondents (17.5%). The results of blood pressure measurements after the implementation of yoga 2x a week for 2 weeks showed an average decrease of 17.06 mmHg in systolic blood pressure and 13.46 mmHG in diastolic blood pressure. The application of self care management is very important to prevent further complications in patients with hypertension. It is hoped that the Ubud 1 Health Center can increase promotive efforts and evaluate the application of self care management in hypertension sufferers.
