Abstract
Epithelial ingrowth is a rarely reported complication after small-incision lenticule extraction (SMILE). The case of a 41-year-old man with epithelial ingrowth in his left eye 20 days after SMILE is presented. He presented to the refractive center for a routine follow-up visit without any complaint, but the left eye revealed a small strip of corneal opacity. A corneal foreign body was removed and was verified as a corneal epithelium block after the pathology examination. Follow-up examinations showed good results.
