Abstract
Scrotal ulceration after hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) with mitomycin C (MMC) is a rare but severe complication. This is a case report of a patient presenting with painful nonhealing scrotal ulceration after 2 treatments of HIPEC with MMC. After failing conservative management, biopsy demonstrated ulceration with thrombosis of adjacent vessels. Excision of the affected area with scrotoplasty completely resolved his pain. Scrotal ulceration after HIPEC is a debilitating complication. While preventative measures are not well understood, early recognition and surgical excision of scrotal ulceration after HIPEC can lead to rapid resolution of symptoms.
