Abstract

Aortic graft-enteric fistula is an infrequent, severe, and late complication that sometimes follows aortic reconstructive surgery. In this case study, we describe the clinical course of a 62-year-old man with a previous leg amputation due to ischemia and gangrene, aortic bifemoral by-pass, and femoral thromboendarterectomy. In the past, the patient underwent a right inguinal hernia repair procedure and an appendectomy, which was complicated by peritonitis. He was taken to the emergency room in 2017 because of a sudden, sharp pain in the right inguinal region with paleness and sweating.
