Abstract
Abstract
We describe a case of adenomyosis that reduced in size in a patient with lymphoma on receiving chemotherapy. A 48-year-old woman with worsening left flank pain was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma. [18F]FDG PET/CT revealed multiple hypermetabolic lymph nodes in the bilateral cervical, axillary, mediastinal, mesenteric, retroperitoneal, iliac, and inguinal regions. In addition, adenomyosis with mild hypermetabolism was demonstrated on [18F]FDG PET/CT. The size and metabolism of adenomyosis decreased after chemotherapy with R-bendamustine; in addition, along with decrease in estradiol levels, the patient experienced amenorrhea and hot flushes. The patient was diagnosed with chemotherapy-induced early menopause.
