5. In AHS tissue regular firing cells had an average resting membrane potential of – 68.4 ± 1.1 mV and an input resistance of 35.6 ± 3.4 MΩ ( n = 18). Bursting cells that are characterized by a burst of 2 to 5 action potentials upon a depolarizing current pulse injection displayed an average resting membrane potential of – 68.7 ± 2.6 mV and an input resistance of 29.6 ± 3.6 MΩ ( n = 6; P > 0.5).
