Abstract

The Sokal Hoax The Sham That Shook the Academy. The Editors of Lingua Franca, Eds. University of Nebraska Press, Lincoln, NE, 2000. 283 pp. Paper, $20. ISBN 0-8032-7995-7. This collection presents Sokal's original article on "quantum gravity," the essay in which he revealed his hoax, a broad sampling of the news coverage and opinion pieces generated by his actions, and additional commentary on the long-term meaning of the affair from a range of scholars.
