Abstract
In this paper, we prove the existence of tau functions of the discrete
modified Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (KP) hierarchy. Meanwhile, the Fay identity with its
difference form, the squared eigenfunction potentials, and the symmetry flows acting
on tau functions are obtained.
