Abstract

The article explores the pragmatic and stylistic characteristics of the dialogic sequences in online comments posted on the Romanian news website Hotnews. In our opinion, this type of texts combines the characteristics of chats with those of face-to-face conversation in an attempt to adjust language to a new situational context and to a new medium of writing. The result is a more creative form of communication with less personal involvement and less expressive potential but with more social attractiveness.
