Abstract

AbstractThe paper describes the discarding of library materials abroad. Materials discarding is one of the important tasks in every library. Firstly, cases of discarding in the USA and in Great Britain in the past are presented. Secondly, the planning and the criteria of discarding are presented. Discarding is described by four methods. The paper concludes by presenting the team performing the withdrawal of library materials.
