Abstract
We present a genome assembly from a narrow-waisted bark beetle, Salpingus planirostris (Arthropoda; Insecta; Coleoptera; Salpingidae). The genome sequence is 127.50 megabases in length. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into 13 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X sex chromosome. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 15.53 kilobases in length.
