Abstract
We present a genome assembly from an individual male Drosophila helvetica (drosophilid fruit fly; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Drosophilidae). The genome sequence spans 224.20 megabases. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into 6 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X and Y sex chromosomes. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 15.96 kilobases in length.
