Abstract
In this article, the history of the origin of religious tourism, pilgrimage and tourism is scientifically based, the essence of their concepts is explained theoretically, the definitions given by foreign scientists are analyzed, and the author's definition of the term "pilgrimage" is given. The analysis of existing literature on the subject includes the identification of historical foundations, making an additional contribution to the development of the topic of pilgrimage in Bukhara and its prospects.
