Idiopathic Hypertrophy of Abductor Digiti Minimi Muscle: A Case Report

Abstract

Abstract Soft tissue masses of the foot are rare and diagnosis may be problematic. Surgical excision is the first-line treatment when a patient has discomfort, pain, or functional impairment. Few cases of hypertrophy of the abductor digiti minimi have been reported. To our knowledge, only four cases have been described in the literature. We present a case of a 6-year-old female patient diagnosed with hypertrophy of the abductor digiti minimi muscle of the left foot. We describe surgical treatment and clinical results after one year of follow-up.
