Biological characterization and complete genome analysis of the newly isolated Serratia liquefaciens phage vB_SlqS_ZDD2

Abstract
A novel lytic phage named vB_SlqS_ZDD2 infecting Serratia liquefaciens was isolated from hospital sewage. BLASTn analysis showed that the genome sequence of phage vB_SlqS_ZDD2 shared 0% query coverage with other phages in the NCBI database. Phenotype and phylogeny analysis indicated that this phage might be a new member of the order Caudoviricetes. Genome sequence displayed that phage vB_SlqS_ZDD2 has a 49,178 bp dsDNA with 55% GC content and has 74 open reading frames. Besides, the phage exhibited strong lytic activity and a wide range of pH (3-12) and temperature tolerance (80℃, 80 min).
