Primary Liver Rhabdomyosarcoma in a Burnt-out disease: An unusual presentation

Abstract

Abstract Rhabdomyosarcoma is the most common soft tissue sarcoma in children. However, Primary hepatic RMS is rare and less than 20 cases are reported in literature. We present the case of a neonate who presented to us with a lumbar mass and lost follow-up during COVID pandemic. She came back to us with a Primary liver Rhabdomyosarcoma in the setting of a burnt out disease. In the setting of a diagnostic dilemma, we found histopathology as the cornerstone to diagnosis. Multimodality therapy based on the experience of similar case reports is the answer is such rare cases where specific guidelines are not yet defined.
