Abstract

Abstract The goal of this research is to investigate the combined impact of Hall currents and Salt gradient on an elastico-viscous nanofluid saturated in a continuous medium. To characterize the rheological behavior of an elastico-viscous nanofluid, the Rivlin-Ericksen type fluid model is used. The presence of nanoparticles enhances the thermal conductivity of the fluid, and the model used for the nanofluid incorporates the effects of Brownian motion and thermophoresis. For the linear stability analysis, the Galerkin-type weighted residual approach has been applied. The effect of non-dimensional parameters such as concentration Rayleigh number, solutal Rayleigh number, Lewis number, modified diffusion ratio, magnetic number, and Hall parameter is explored numerically. It has been observed that the Hall currents have a dual effect on the system in the presence of salt. It is also analyzed that oscillatory convection exists for aluminum nanoparticles. The results are shown graphically and numerically.
