Abstract
Abstract
Our study used chemometric-based UV–visible spectrophotometry and Reversed-phase chromatography (habitually stated to as RP chromatography) methods to estimate the amounts of pharmacological dosage forms with a combination of ofloxacin and tinidazole. Quantifying each drug in mixtures was done using UV absorption spectra of 280 to 320 nm and ∆λ of 0.5 nm. For the development of the chemometric model, 24 binary mixture solutions were used, and for validation, twelve solutions were chosen. No prior separation is required for the chemometric-assisted analysis. RP-HPLC units were constructed for quantification by using a THERMOSIL C18 column, a 0.8 and 1.0 ml/min flow rate, and an 85% phosphate: 15% acetonitrile mobile phase. Using these methods, multiple drugs were determined simultaneously in a synthetic mixture. RP-HPLC had a good agreement with PCR and PLS results when compared with the PCR and PLS results.
