Abstract
Abstract
The current research was conduct with 20 genotypes of Indian mustard (Brassica juncea L.) at Agriculture Research Farm, Lovely Professional University, Punjab during Rabi 2020-21 in RBD with 3 replication among 12 traits was study to determine the relationship between seed yield per plant and its components at the genotypic level and phenotypic level. The research study of genotypic path coefficient analysis for several traits demonstrated a positive direct effect on seed yield plant− 1 by the plant height, No. of primary branches plant− 1, seeds siliqua− 1, biological yield, harvest index and test weight. Negative direct effect on No. of days to flowering, No. of days to maturity, No. of secondary branches plant− 1, No. of siliqua plant− 1 and siliqua length. From the present findings, we can conclude that the selection of characters with the positive direct effect would be beneficial for increasing the yield. The requirement for providing appropriate consideration to Days to maturity, Plant height, No. of secondary branches plant− 1, no. of seeds siliqua− 1, Biological yield, Harvest index and Test weight has been specifically outlined in the current study.
