Abstract

Abstract Background The protocol aims to investigate the clinical features of severe cases of influenza and the genetic diversity and transmission patterns of influenza viruses. Methods The study collects clinical data from patients with severe flu, including symptoms, disease progression, and outcomes. Additionally, molecular analysis will be conducted to identify and characterise the influenza viruses circulating in the population. Discussion The findings from this study will provide valuable insights into the clinical manifestations of severe influenza and the genetic variations of influenza viruses, which can contribute to the development of effective prevention and control strategies. • Guiding significance for improving the understanding of recent influenza epidemic patterns and diagnosis and treatment capabilities. • Provide practical biological evidence for influenza diagnosis and prevention. Trial registration retrospectively registered.
