Abstract
Catalytic systems based on the colloidal magnetite Fe3O4 nanoparticles were studied in the epoxide thiolysis reaction conditions and during the magnetic separation. Two samples of superparamagnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles with the mean size of 4 nm and 10 nm were studied using electron paramagnetic resonance in situ, X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy. The role of the nanoparticles size for the magnetic separation effectiveness and catalytic effect in the epoxide thiolysis reaction has been demonstrated.
