Abstract
A new hybrid containing alkali metal-organic framework and polymeric iodoargentate, {[K(bpdo)2](AgI2)}n (1) (bpdo = 4,4'-dipyrdiyl-N,N'-dioxide) has been synthesized by solution process and structurally determined, which is the first potassium-based 3-D network constructed from linear bpdo ligands and also serves as host for accommodating 1-D polymeric (AgI2)nn− chains. The 3-D [K(bpdo)2]nn+ metal-organic framework can be described as the result of bridged [K(bpdo)2]nn+ 2-D sheets by KO8 square antiprisms, in which electrostatic interaction among bpdo ligands solidifies this network. The straight-linear (AgI2)nn− is constructed from edge-sharing of AgI4 tetrahedra, which is accommodated in the channels of 3-D [K(bpdo)2]nn+ network. This hybrid is a semi-conductor with optical gap of 2.80 eV. Besides, 1 exhibits effective and repeatable photocurrent responses with current density of 1.40×10− 7 A, and the photocurrent response mechanism was also discussed.
