Abstract
Abstract
With the increasing prevalence of diabetes mellitus, diabetes mellitus-induced diabetic cardiomyopathy was one of the common complications of diabetes and the main cause of sudden cardiac death in diabetic patients. The pathogenesis of diabetic cardiomyopathy is not well understood. We discussed the potential miRNAs and pathways in progression of cardiac function impairment in diabetic cardiomyopathy. In our study, we used microarray analysis to obtain 48 abnormally expressed miRNAs in 16 - and 24-week db mouse induced diabetic cardiomyopathy models, of which 23 upregulated expressions and 25 downregulated expressions. Subsequently, the downstream target genes of these abnormal miRNAs were screened and 3079 target genes were obtained. Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis were performed for these abnormally expressed genes. This study provides a new way to further explore the molecular mechanism of diabetic cardiomyopathy, and has important guiding significance for elucidating the pathogenesis and the development of prevention and treatment drugs.
