Abstract

Abstract Objective To explore the application and clinical significance of Hisense computer-assisted surgical system ( Hisense CAS) in preoperative lung volume measurement of pediatric pectus excavatum. Methods The clinical data of 52 children with pectus excavatum admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University Medical College from January 2019 to January 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. Besides, CAS was used to perform three-dimensional reconstruction of the children's chest CT images. Measuring lung volume with CAS method was evaluated for its reliability and clinical significance by comparing the correlation between the reconstructed lung volume measurement results and the results of routine pulmonary function tests. Results The mean values of CT-based CAS lung volume results were greater than those of pulmonary function tests, but the correlation with conventional pulmonary function results was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion CT-based CAS three-dimensional reconstruction lung volume measurement can serve as an effective method to clinically assess the lung volume of pediatric patients with pectus excavatum.
