Abstract
This paper presents a study on the optimal design for the hybrid composite reinforced by random flax and woven glass fibre fabrics under flexural loading. The flexural properties are evaluated through Finite Element Analysis (FEA)-based simulation. Using the data from FEA-based simulation, regression models are developed to establish the correlation between the flexural strength and the fibre volume fractions. Subsequently, multi-objective optimisation is conducted using the developed regression models, with the primary objectives of minimising both cost and weight while adhering to the constraint of maintaining the minimum required flexural strength.
