Abstract

Abstract This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a newly designed hanger irrigation system in providing consistent water supply for agriculture in India. With agriculture being a crucial sector for the country's economic development and a significant source of livelihood for about 70% of the population, water scarcity poses a significant challenge. Traditional irrigation methods have limitations, necessitating the exploration of alternative systems that are durable and affordable. The hanger irrigation system was developed using SolidWorks software, incorporating Finite Element Analysis to enhance its vibrational sustainability and reduce deformation. The structure utilized structural steel and bamboo fiber as materials, with vibration and static analyses conducted using ANSYS 19 software to ensure stability and improve load-bearing capacity. Cost comparisons were made between bamboo and steel models. The findings of modal and static analyses for different materials were discussed to draw conclusions. Effective water management in irrigation is essential for maximizing crop productivity and meeting food production goals in India. The hanger irrigation system shows promise in providing consistent water supply while minimizing labor costs, making it a viable alternative for agricultural irrigation.
