Abstract
One of the factors affecting the quality of life of citizens is the condition of urban roads, therefore paving the roads and maintaining the roads in good condition is one of their basic needs as this facilitates the passage of goods and citizens. Identifying the impact of various factors on pavement design, construction and maintenance is one of the duties of highway engineers. In this research, four climatic parameters (rain, snow, solar radiation, and wind) and their effect on pavement maintenance were investigated. For this investigation, the system dynamics and its causal and effect diagrams were utilized. The reinforcement loops of each of these factors were analyzed and finally, suggestions were presented. Suggestions in general, were; 1) fundamental design of pavement roads, 2) use of up-to-date materials and technology in road pavement, and 3) consideration of climatic parameters during the design and construction of vehicles.
