Abstract

Abstract In this paper, a transversal dual-band wideband bandpass filter (BPF) with two transmission paths is proposed. Two shorted coupled lines are employed as ideal 180° phase shifting structure to realize additional transmission path. Multiple transmission zeroes are obtained by transversal signal cancellation mechanism and high selectivity passbands can be achieved. By employing the classical odd-/even mode analysis method, seven modes can be excited for dual wideband construction. The fractional band width of the first wide passband can reach 107% for multiservice application. The presented transversal BPF with dual wideband is fabricated for verification. Good agreement between experimental results and simulation predictions validates the effectiveness of presented design methodology.
