Abstract

Abstract This research investigates the adoption and usage patterns of learning management systems (LMSs) in private higher education institutions, namely,Sharda University and Galgotias University, in Greater Noida, India. This study, guided by the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model, employs a quantitative approach through surveys and statistical analyses. The data collected from 76 teachers and 106 students provideinsights into LMS adoption. Among the students, there was a moderate level of acceptance of the LMS, with Google Classroom being the preferred platform. While social influence and facilitating conditions varied, perceived usefulness, ease of use, and behavioral intentions remained consistent across demographic factors. Among the teachers, a generally positive attitude toward LMS adoption was observed, with Google Classroom being the predominant attitude. Demographic factors, such as age, gender, and teaching experience, influence teachers' perceptions. Regression analysis revealed a significant relationship between perceived aspects and teachers' behavioral intentions, highlighting the importance of these factors in shaping attitudes toward LMS adoption. In summary, the study provides valuable insights into LMS adoption dynamics in private higher education in Greater Noida. The findings have implications for educational institutions aiming to improve their digital infrastructure and promote effective LMS utilization, offering potential applications for policymakers, educators, and stakeholders to enhance decision-making and educational quality in the region.
