Abstract

Abstract In this study, the degradation of epoxy phenolic coating used for heat resistant application is induced by AC-DC-AC method, and degradation degree evaluated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS).Experimental results demonstrate that AC-DC-AC method did accelerate the failure of coatings. Results also showed good concordance between low frequency impedance modulus and DC current. Moreover, characterization of parameters, such as polarization potential, duration, and coating thickness with respect to the electrochemical behavior of coating are proposed.
