Abstract
Abstract
The use of UV irradiation in conjunction with oxidants or catalysts (TiO2) to treat industrial wastewater has piqued interest as a viable alternative to traditional approaches. The purpose of this research is to investigate the preparation and characterization of TiO2 – SnO2 nanocomposites with various ratios, as well as their application in the photocatalytic degradation of acid red 37 dye in aqueous solution under UV irradiation as a model pollutant. XRD, TEM, EDAX, FTIR, were used to characterise. The photocatalytic degradaion was studied with different advanced oxidation processes using UV/TiO2, UV/ SnO2, UV/TiO2 – SnO2 (97 : 3 ), UV/TiO2 – SnO2 (93 : 7 ), UV/TiO2 – SnO2 (90 : 10 ), UV/TiO2 – SnO2 (85 : 15 ), UV/TiO2 – SnO2 (80 : 20 ), UV/TiO2 – SnO2 (90 : 10 ) /H2O2, UV/TiO2 – SnO2 (90 : 10 ) /Na2S2O8 and UV/TiO2 – SnO2 (90 : 10 ) /NaIO4 using a batch photoreactor.
