Abstract

Abstract Historically, construction predominantly comprised conventional rectangular structures. However, modern construction has expanded to encompass organic designs, prompting a demand for seismic assessment techniques for irregular buildings. Analysing these structures poses intricate challenges, requiring innovative resolutions from structural engineers. This paper concentrates on enhancing the structural stability of vertical geometric irregular buildings. It continues by conducting a comparative analysis of diverse vertical geometric irregular buildings using pushover curves and performing seismic risk assessments. The study offers engineers and practitioners valuable insights to ascertain irregularities critical for ensuring structural stability. Ultimately, the research delves into studying the earthquake response of such irregular buildings in seismic zone 5, a high-risk area. This pursuit aligns with the broader goal of fortifying these structures against seismic forces through meticulous examination and comprehension of their behaviour.
