Abstract

Abstract A series of novel 1,3-dialkylpyrimidine derivatives was synthesized. Selective N1 alkylation of N3 substituted pyrimidine derivatives with different alkyl halides using K2CO3 as base in DMF at room temperature provides such compounds in good yields. This method has advantages over methods currently described in the literature for the construction of such compounds.
