Abstract
Abstract
This research investigates the evaluation of radiation oncology standardized residency training (SRT) residents regarding the final examinations and training process in different types of hospitals (cancer and general) in Fujian Province between 2021 and 2023. This study explored strategies for improving the quality of SRT. Questionnaires administered to residents participating in the final training examination for radiation oncology residents in 2021 and 2023 were thoroughly analyzed. The results show that residents from general hospitals were less satisfied with theoretical and hands-on teaching than residents in cancer hospitals in 2023 (P<0.05). Compared with 2021, 2023 residents believed the exams were more difficult and conformed less to training (P<0.05). Nevertheless, there were no significant differences in the evaluations of teaching quality or hands-on opportunities. Teachers’ qualifications for SRT, especially in general hospitals, should be further enhanced to guarantee homogenization and training quality. Offline teaching should be prioritized as indispensable, whereas online teaching can serve as a supplementary method to support resident learning.
