Abstract

Introduction: Leiomyoma of the round ligament has been reported as an isolated finding and more commonly over the right side. More than 50% of it is associated with fibroid uterus. There is no reported case in the literature of a left-sided leiomyoma of ligamentum rotundum, and its association with a high-grade serous carcinoma of the ovary. Case Presentation: We report a confirmed case of high-grade serous epithelial ovarian carcinoma of the ovary in a postmenopausal lady, with an intra-operative incidental finding of a round ligament mass. It was then surgically excised and sent for histopathological study. Conclusion: Round ligament leiomyoma coexisting with an invasive epithelial ovarian tumor is a rare entity. Round ligament leiomyomas can create diagnostic dilemmas of metastatic nodes in some cases.
