Abstract
A one-pot four-component condensation reaction of isatins, meldrum's acid, diamine, and nitro ketene dithioacetal in the presence of heterogeneous catalyst KAl(SO4)2.12H2O (alum), which is relatively nontoxic, reusable very soluble in water, and inexpensive to yield a some new spiro[imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-7,3'-indole]-2',5(1'H,6H)-dione derivatives is described.
