Abstract
This paper presents the model of surface temperature variations, resulting
from the photothermal effect induced in a ?thin film ? highly absorbing
surface layer? structure, where the thin film is irradiated. The influence
of the optical absorption coefficient and sample thickness on the induced
temperature gradient is analyzed. It is shown that, depending on the product
of these parameters (optical absorbance) in the described structure, the
phenomenon of inverse temperature gradient can occur, further influencing
the direction and the magnitude of thermoelastic displacement.
