Abstract
A series of transition metal complexes of Mn(II),Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II),
Zn(II) and VO(II) has been prepared by using the Schiff base ligand (L)
derived from 4-aminoantipyrine and 5-chlorosalicylaldehyde. The structural
properties of Schiff base ligand have been characterized by Mass, FT-IR,
UV-VIS, 1H NMR spectroscopy etc. as well as metal complexes also studied by
P-XRD, elemental analyses, thermogravimetric studies and various biological
activities. The micro analytical data shows that, the metal complexes has
been found to be 1:1 stoichiometry composition of M:L. Generally, it is
observed that prepared metal complexes shows better antifungal,
antibacterial, anticancer activities than its Schiff base ligand.
