Abstract

The text compares and examines the similarities and differences between aesthetics and philosophy of media in the historical context, as well as in the present time. Also, the article establishes the position of aesthetics and philosophy of media in relation to philosophy, that is, metaphysics (ontology), as well as other related theoretical disciplines. Considering the fact that philosophy of media, despite the appearance of its subject in ancient times, is a relatively new and insufficiently researched field of investigation, all the mentioned comparisons can only be taken conditionally, referring to the initial points of view and the current knowledge, available and handled in this field of research. Therefore, the article is a kind of anticipatory ?analysis?, based more on intuition than on rational argumentation, but perhaps it can be useful for future research on this issue.
