Abstract
New catalytic methods and modern trends for the synthesis of fine chemicals, especially vitamins, carotenoids, flavoring and fragrance compounds are presented. In particular the application of heterogeneous catalysis in the formation and production on industrial scale of these classes
of organic compounds will be highlighted and its use in the replacement of former stoichiometric processes.
