Abstract
Violence is one of the most widely researched topic in recent years. Especially, there has been a lot of research and accumulated literature about domestic violence, violence against women, workplace violence as mobbing, bullying in the schools, psychological and physical abuse as children and youth face at home. Again in recent years, school bullying has been one of the most popular research topics in Turkey and this phenomenon has been investigated in every level of educational setting and from every dimensions. Intervention programs has been implemented and this led a great deal of awareness developed both in public and school settings. Similarly, teachers who has been subjected to student violence has drawn a lot of attention such that, there was a lot of news in television and printed media about crimes committed against teachers. On the other hand, the violence has been manifested by teachers has never been accepted and draw attention. Teachers were seen a leader and significant person that nobody dare to mentioned such things about teachers. It is believed that teachers do not deserve such behavior attributed to them. Therefore, this teacher violence has been taboo for a long time and never researched. The purpose of this study is to investigated psychological, social and physical violence demonstrated in class towards to students. This review aimed at identifying definitions, prevalence, kinds of violent and mistreatments, prevalence rates, the effects of violence on students, and the cycle of violence in students life. The articles related to these topics has been chosen and an unique review is written.
