Abstract

The perception of the employees about their roles is very effective in the process of fulfilling the assigned tasks. In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the relationship between the role loading, role ambiguity and role conflict experienced by the employees with each other and demographic variables. In the research, the opinions of the clinical and administrative staff of five public hospitals in Istanbul were evaluated. The research sample consisted of 517 observations. Participants were required to have worked in the institution for at least six months. IBM SPSS 24.0 and AMOS 24.0 programs were used in data analysis. Descriptive statistics, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, correlation, T-test and analysis of variance (ANOVA) are among the statistical analyzes performed. It was observed that the role variables were correlated with each other and the highest correlation was between role loading and conflict. It is seen that the role variables differ according to age, occupation, marital status and education variables, and the findings are generally compatible with the literature.
