Determination of Nurses' Quality of Work Life and Affecting Factors in the Covid 19 Process

Abstract

Background: To determine the quality of work-life and affecting factors of nurses who care for Covid-19 patients. Methods: The descriptive study was conducted with nurses working in a university hospital in Konya between June and July 2021 (n=190). The data were collected through face-to-face interviews with the Data Sheet and the Quality of Nursing Work Life Scale. In the analysis of the data, the Kruskal Wallis test, descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Levene test, Tukey test were used. Results: 57.9% of the nurses were women and 86.3% were undergraduates. The mean score of the scale was 107.61 (±12.65). It was determined that nurses' quality of work-life was affected by age, gender, marital status, having a child, education level, professional experience, unit of work, and weekly working hours. Conclusion: Scale total score of female nurses, the work environment of single and non-children; the relationship of nurses working 46-50 hours a week with the manager; job perception of nurses aged between 31-40, women and graduate students; It was determined that the mean score of the support services sub-dimension of the nurses aged between 31-40 and working in the internal units was high. Suggestions were made in line with the results.
