Abstract

The article discusses the problem of generalizations in the interpretation of the results of transmission and reception of culture and religion. Analyzing a number of scientific interpretations of the quality of the Christianization in the Congo that began at the end of the 15th century, the author demonstrates the methodological incorrectness of one-sided generalizations in the interpretation of cultural, ethnographic and historical data.
