Abstract
Cucurbita pepo is widely used as food and herbal remedies around the world. It contains several phyto-constituents
belonging to the categories of alkaloids, flavonoids, and palmitic, oleic and linoleic acids. Many pharmacological studies
have demonstrated hepatoprotection, inhibit benign prostatic hyperplasia, hypoglycemic agent, antioxidant, anticancer,
antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, and antiulcer activities supporting its traditional uses. This aims a
comprehensive study of the chemical constituents, pharmacological and clinical uses.
