1. Separate treaties deal whales and seals. Whales whilst in Antarctic waters are subject to the Convention for the Regulation of Whaling 1931. (1931) LNTS 155; (1939) 33 UKTS. CCAMLR provides in Article VI that nothing in the convention derogates from the rights and obligation of the parties under the Convention for the Regulation of Whaling.
